SATURDAY, JUNE 13th 2009: New Format For the rest of this site's duration, I will provide anime, technology, commentary, and other things deemed important by me. Material will be unusual or original. I want everyone to know I will not report on everything, only "stuff" that is worth your time. For example, typical harem anime will not be mentioned on my site...at all. Each important story will have it's own description and link. Let me know if it works. In addition, I will do my best not to spoil the story.
New Anime of 2009 (Spring)
Eden of the East: Mind you, I have not yet watched this, but I plan to. Unfortunately, it seems there are only 11 episodes. From scouring various sites, this anime beams with a unique artistic style and separates itself from the countless other productions of 2009. If anyone has seen Magical Shopping Arcade Abenobashi, they might get the same feel from this movie. The story is as follows: In 2010, ten missiles strike Japan. Apparently, there were no victims, and is quickly forgotten by
almost everyone.Later on, the heinous terrorist act is dubbed, "Careless Monday." Fastforward 3 months later: Saki Morimi, a young woman, is in the United States on a graduation trip. While in front of the White House in D.C., she gets into trouble, but is saved by a man who introduces himself as
Akira Takizawa. Something just does not add up. Clothes: no check. Gun: check. Memory: no check. A phone that is
charged with 8,200,000,000 yen in digital cash...? Big check. Episodes Online: As of yet, no online episodes have found. Note, the search was a brisk one, so I'll be sure to look more later. The trailer is available here (there might actually be some episodes on youtube: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0Q4cc46wym4AnimeNewsNetwork Staff, "Eden of The East (TV)".

Guin Saga: Again, I have not watched this show, and all the recommendations I probably will not get have the chance to watch from the start (only a trailer and summary). I bring these to you as fast as I can. Anyways, are you tired of all the anime shows/films where the main protagonist is all wrong? Of course, I'm refering to adventure/fighting anime where the main character hesitates to kill a foe, takes 2-3 episodes transforming into a new form, or narrates everything he notices in the fight. I know I am tired of it with all the Bleach I have seen. Guinn Saga seems to be an anime where the business is...well cutting people up when need be. The story is as follows: "Guin Saga anime series centers around a mysterious warrior named Guin, an amnesiac with a leopard mask magically affixed to his head remembering nothing but his fighting instincts and the word “Aurra”,
he confronts a world laden with danger, intrigue, and magic. Guin Saga begins in the ancient kingdom of Parro has been invaded by the armies of Mongaul, and its king and queen have been slain. But the “twin pearls of Parro,” the princess Rinda and the prince Remus, escape using a strange device hidden in the palace. Lost in the Forest of Rood, they are rescued from Mongaul soldiers
by a strange leopard-headed man named Guin, who has no memories except
for the word “Aurra.”
Guin Saga anime series is based on the longest continuing single-writer’s work in the WORLD" (subbedanime). Notes: I know the summary may seem a little, 'average fantasy stuff-ish,' but give it a chance; it seems like a quality anime with quality art. Check it out!Episodes Online: It seems this is an ongoing anime series and only 10 episodes online were found so far. I doubt the series is only 10, but I will keep searching. This is what I found: http://www.animefreak.tv/watch/guin-saga-english-dubbed-online-free Subbed Anime Staff, "Guin Saga". subbedanime.com. 13 June 2009 <http://subbedanime.com/episodes/guin-saga>.
Shangri-La: A bit more on the unorthodox serious side of things, this anime focuses on plausible notions of global warming (which isn't too hard to believe

). It's also made my Gonzo, so it should be a fairly developed show. The story is as follows: "
A grim glimpse into a future where global warming
has become so accelerated that 'carbon trading' has been introduced as
a method for countries to combat it. Japan has enlisted the help of
Atlas Corp. to turn Tokyo into a 'jungle-polis.' The company begins by
building a towering city called Atlas, specifically for the wealthy,
destroying the land underneath.
Leading the charge against the government is Kuniko Hojo and
her Metal Age terrorist group, trying to incite a rebellion for the
people left in the city of Tokyo" (animesource). Notes: I have no clue why I a picking the unusal shows this time around, but then again, this is all that seems interesting.Episodes Online: Here is the Japanese trailer, be sure to bookmark my page when I put up the links for the online episodes!

Sadly...of the 2009 spring release anime shows, the above were the only interesting shows I noticed. Of course, I will always be looking for more and of course, very soon, I will recommend series I have seen that you all MUST see. If there are any recommendations of things you've noticed, let me know, please!
